Editor's note
Avoid the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas, which has 461 complaints, twelve recall campaigns and a score of 42, and treat the 2018, 2019 and 2024 cars, at 461, 471 and 167 complaints and scores of 56, 51 and 54, with caution. Buy a 2022 or 2023 car, which have 178 and 130 complaints and score 73 each; the 2020 car scores 87 but on 27 complaints and low evidence. Read the full note on the model page. 2023 specifically: a year the record favours — 130 complaints, score 73/100. The caveats in the note apply to other years of this nameplate more than to this one.
