About

MotorJury exists because "is this car reliable?" is answerable with public data, and almost nobody bothers. Manufacturers publish marketing. Forums publish anecdote. The United States safety regulator publishes every complaint an owner files and every recall a manufacturer issues — millions of records, free, and almost unreadable in raw form. This site turns them into a verdict per model year.

Who runs it

Operated and edited by Adir Trabelsi. Data engineering and publication are automated; the methodology, the source selection and the editorial standards are human decisions, documented in full on the methodology page. Nobody pays for a verdict, and no verdict is written by hand. The buyer's guides and the editor's notes on model pages are the written layer: signed, dated and revised when the data moves, under the editorial policy.

We answer corrections first. If a figure on this site is wrong, tell us which page and what you believe the right number is — the fix goes into the data or the formula, so every affected page changes on the next nightly build.

What we publish, and what we will not

Every number on a page traces to NHTSA or EPA, or is labelled an estimate with its formula published. Verdicts are computed from that data before any advertising or affiliate link is attached to the page, and no advertiser has ever been offered influence over one. We do not publish opinion reviews, we do not republish manufacturer copy, and we do not fill pages with prose to make thin data look thick — a model year without enough data does not get a page.

Independence

MotorJury is not affiliated with any manufacturer, dealer, insurer or parts retailer. The site is funded by advertising and by affiliate links that are disclosed on the disclosure page.

Sources and attribution

The buyer's guides are written and signed by Adir Trabelsi, the editor. Every other page on this site is computed by the build rather than written by a person, and says so in place of a byline. Complaint, recall and fuel-economy figures are from NHTSA and the EPA. Catalogue facts (marque, years, designer, production) are from Wikidata. The background paragraphs in car biographies and the descriptions on the events pages are adapted from the corresponding English Wikipedia articles, used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence (CC BY-SA 4.0); the article each page draws on is linked from its specifications table. Photographs are from Wikimedia Commons and carry their author and licence in the caption or in the full-screen view. This page is the site-wide attribution notice; individual pages do not repeat it.
