The vehicle brakes malfunctioned while driving over bumpy pavement in a parking lot. There was a loss of ability to stop the vehicle, the breaks seemed locked or ineffective. This cause me to come close to rear ending the vehicle in front of me. My foot was pushed FIRMLY on the break and the vehicle seemed to continue to lurch forward. The collision warning alarm was sounding and the brake pedal was vibrating.

The vehicle was stopped, shifted into drive, and then park. The vehicle then shifted into drive(D) another time and the vehicle operated normally. Windshield accumulated a lot of pitting in a certain area while driving within the first 27,000 miles. Noticed this after washing wind shield of bugs. One pit expanded to a 1/2 inch crack when turning into the driveway, just off the drivers side lower edge. It later expanded to the edge and and half way across the windshield.
