The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed with an internal failure, and the engine coolant bypass valve needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure.
Car shuts off randomly saying low steering power, will restart after a few minutes. This a safety issue that can lead to a crash.
I received the engine maintenance required notification on 7/11. On 7/13, I called my Toyota to make an appt to bring it in at 9 AM.
