Safest years: 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2023, 2024 — scored 70 or better.

Editor's note

The Accord has one of the longest clean stretches in the dataset, interrupted twice. The 2013 model year, the first of the ninth generation, carries complaints about the continuously variable transmission, the direct-injection four-cylinder's starter, and Bluetooth and infotainment faults. The 2018 model year, the first of the tenth generation, repeats the pattern with a 1.5-litre turbo that suffers the same oil-dilution problem as the CR-V, plus complaints about the heater and the infotainment screen. In both cases the second and third years of the generation are markedly better. The 2021–2024 cars score in the 70s and 80s. The Accord Hybrid, from 2014, has a separate and generally strong record.
