Start with what the Suzuki Victoris is: a 5-door SUV with Petrol engine, built from 2025, in the decade the industry is turning electric. What it meant takes a little longer.
How it came about
The Suzuki Victoris or Across is a subcompact crossover SUV (B-segment) produced by Suzuki in India since 2025. It was released on 3 September 2025 in India to complement the similarly sized Suzuki Grand Vitara. The vehicle was developed by Suzuki using the Global C platform. In India, the model is exclusively available at the Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership chain, whilst the Grand Vitara is exclusively available at the Nexa dealership chain. It will be produced in India with export plans to more than 100 countries.
The hardware
The engine is Petrol engine; other versions carried different engines, listed in the specification table below. On the scales it comes to 1145 –. Drive goes through a 5-speed Manual transmission / manual / 6-speed automatic (mild hybrid) / e-Drive Transmission (mechanics)#Electric variable / eCVT (strong hybrid). The wheelbase is 2600 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Family and rivals
In the Suzuki line-up the Suzuki Victoris has a clear place: the factory was Kharkhoda, Haryana (Maruti Suzuki), India. The cars a buyer would have weighed it against include the Tesla Cybertruck, the Nissan Z, the BYD Seal 06 EV. Its Suzuki stablemates include the Suzuki XL-7 and the Suzuki Landy.
