The Geely EX2 is a 5-door hatchback from Geely, built from 2024, in the decade the industry is turning electric.
The story
The Geely EX2, or the Geely Xingyuan in China (Chinese: 吉利星愿; lit. 'wish upon a star') is a battery electric subcompact hatchback manufactured by Geely Auto. It was introduced in September 2024, occupying the A0-class or equivalent to global B-segment.
In China, the Xingyuan is badged with a "Geome" logo from the automaker's Geely Geometry brand, but it is branded as "Geely" and marketed through Geely Galaxy's Star Network dealerships. Outside China, the model is marketed as the Geely EX2, the Geely E2 (European Union, South Africa), and the Proton eMas 5 (Malaysia). In 2025, the Xingyuan was the best-selling car of any kind in China.
What is underneath
58-85 kW is the published figure. It weighs 1215-1285 kg. Work it out per tonne and you get about 48 horsepower — leisurely, which for a car of its age and purpose is the point. The layout matters: a front engine drives the rear wheels, the classic proportion — long bonnet, cabin set back — that most people picture when they picture a sports saloon or a grand tourer. The wheelbase is 2650 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
