The Škoda Slavia is a 4-door sedan from Škoda Auto, built from 2022, in the decade the industry is turning electric. Under the bonnet: Petrol engine.
How it came about
The Škoda Slavia is a subcompact sedan (B-segment) manufactured by Škoda primarily for the Indian market. It was introduced in November 2021 and has been produced since 2022. Built on the MQB A0 IN platform adapted for India, the vehicle is based on the Volkswagen Virtus sedan. The Slavia replaced the Volkswagen Polo-based Rapid.
The hardware
Power comes from Petrol engine; other versions carried different engines, listed in the specification table below. It shifts through a 6-speed manual / 6-speed automatic / 7-speed DSG. The wheelbase is 2651 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Family and rivals
Its family tree is legible: it took over from the Škoda Rapid (India); assembly was at Chakan. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Nissan Z, the Tesla Cybertruck, the Kia EV6 — show what else the money bought that year. Its Škoda Auto stablemates include the HZS-1 and the Trekka.
