Nissan does not build many cars like the Nissan NX8: a 5-door SUV with 1.5 L SFG15T turbocharged I4, built from 2026 in the decade the industry is turning electric.
How it came about
The Nissan NX8 (Chinese: 日产NX8; pinyin: Rìchǎn NX8) is a battery electric and range-extended mid-size crossover SUV produced by the Dongfeng Nissan joint venture and sold under the Nissan brand. It is the first SUV in Nissan's China-exclusive N series.
The hardware
Under the skin sits 1.5 L SFG15T turbocharged I4; other versions carried different engines, listed in the specification table below. Kerb weight is 2035-2245 kg. The wheelbase is 2917 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Family and rivals
Where it sits in Nissan's history is not in doubt: it was built at Guangzhou (Dongfeng Nissan), China. On a showroom list of its day it stood against the Tesla Cybertruck, the Ferrari Luce, the Aston Martin Valen. Its Nissan stablemates include the Nissan N6 and the Nissan N7.
