The background

The Sehol X4 or previously the JAC Jiayue X4 is a compact crossover produced by JAC Motors under the Sehol brand. The Sehol X4 was briefly called the Sol X4 and JAC Jiayue X4 before the Sehol brand name was established. The Sehol X4 is essentially an extensive facelift of the previously launched JAC Refine S4. The X4 is also rebranded as the Moskvitch 3 in Russia. Sehol X4s are manufactured in Hefei and also assembled from knock-down kits at the Moscow Automobile Plant Moskvitch, in partnership with Kamaz.

The engineering

Power comes from Petrol engine; 88 kW (120 hp is the published figure; other versions carried different engines, listed in the specification table below. It weighs 1365 -. Work it out per tonne and you get about 64 horsepower — unhurried — enough for the job, not for the bragging. It shifts through a 6-speed manual / CVT / 1-speed direct-drive (EV). The wheelbase is 2620 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.

Where it sits

Its family tree is legible: assembly was at Hefei. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Kia EV6, the Fiat 500e, the Honda e — show what else the money bought that year. Its Moskvitch stablemates include the AZLK-2139 and the AZLK-2144.
