The Hongqi EH7 is a 4-door sedan from Hongqi, built from 2024, in the decade the industry is turning electric.
How it came about
The Hongqi EH7 (Chinese: 红旗EH7) is a battery electric executive sedan produced by Chinese automobile manufacturer Hongqi, a subsidiary of FAW Group.
The hardware
253-455 kW is the published figure. It weighs 2240 kg. Work it out per tonne and you get about 113 horsepower — brisk everyday performance. The wheelbase is 3000 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Family and rivals
Its family tree is legible: it took over from the Hongqi H7; assembly was at Changchun, Jilin, China. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Nissan Z, the Geely Galaxy E5, the Changan Automobile Nevo E07 — show what else the money bought that year. Its Hongqi stablemates include the Hongqi and the Hongqi 774.
