Suzuki does not build many cars like the Suzuki Every: a 5-door van with 543&nbsp, built from 1982 in the age of turbocharging and the first electronic engine management.

How it came about

The Suzuki Every (Japanese: スズキ・エブリイ, Hepburn: Suzuki Eburī), is a microvan produced by the Japanese automaker Suzuki. In Japan, the Every is kei cars but the Suzuki Every Plus, the bigger version of Every, had a longer hood for safety purposes and a larger engine; export market versions and derivatives.

Since 1999, the nameplate have been differentiated, with commercial vehicles called Every and passenger vehicles called Every Wagon. Starting from the fifth generation, the Every uses a completely different design. According to Suzuki, the "Every" nameplate means "Anywhere".

The hardware

Under the skin sits 543&nbsp. Kerb weight is 585-785 kg. The gearbox is a 4/5 speed manual. The wheelbase is 1840 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.

Family and rivals

Where it sits in Suzuki's history is not in doubt: it was built at Iwata, Shizuoka, Japan. On a showroom list of its day it stood against the Porsche 944, the Toyota Camry, the Opel Corsa. Its Suzuki stablemates include the Suzuki XL-7 and the Suzuki Landy.

The money

There is no federal ownership record for the Suzuki Every — it predates the complaint database or was never sold in the United States — so MotorJury publishes no running-cost figure for it. For a car of this age the price is set by the collector market and the condition of the individual example, not by a formula.
