The Mazda CX-6e is the Mazda that answered a simple question — how much car can this badge carry? — with 190. kW from Petrol engine. It was built from 2025, in the decade the industry is turning electric.

How it came about

The Mazda CX-6e, known in China as the Mazda EZ-60 is a mid-size crossover SUV produced by Mazda. It was introduced in April 2025, and went on sale in September 2025 in China. A product developed and produced by Changan Mazda joint venture, the model is heavily based on the Deepal S07 and shares the same battery electric and extended-range EV powertrains.

The hardware

Under the skin sits Petrol engine; it is rated at 190. kW; other versions carried different engines, listed in the specification table below. Kerb weight is 1992-2048 kg. Power-to-weight lands near 95 horsepower per tonne, which is brisk everyday performance. The wheelbase is 2902 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.

Family and rivals

Where it sits in Mazda's history is not in doubt: it was built at Nanjing, Jiangsu (Changan Mazda), China. On a showroom list of its day it stood against the Changan Automobile Avatr 06, the BYD Seal 06 EV, the BYD Auto Fangchengbao Ti3. Its Mazda stablemates include the Mazda BT-50 and the Mazda T2000.

The money

EPA combined economy is 30 mpg, about $2,600 a year in fuel at the EPA's assumptions. Condition, mileage and specification move any single car a long way from a headline figure.
