Every car is an argument about what matters, and the Sehol E10X makes its case with electric motor and 30 kW-45 kW (41 PS-61 PS. JAC Group built from 2021 — in the decade the industry is turning electric.
The story
The Sehol E10X is a battery electric city car produced by Sehol of JAC Motors based on the same platform as the JAC iEV6E from 2016 which also shared the same platform as the JAC Yueyue and Refine S2 Mini. On June 1, 2024, the 200,000th E10X was produced.
What is underneath
Power comes from electric motor; 30 kW-45 kW (41 PS-61 PS is the published figure. It weighs 1080 kg. Work it out per tonne and you get about 28 horsepower — leisurely, which for a car of its age and purpose is the point. It shifts through a 1-speed direct-drive. The layout matters: the engine drives the front wheels, the packaging choice that gives a small car a big cabin. The wheelbase is 2390 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Its place in the line
Its family tree is legible: assembly was at Hefei, Anhui, China. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Chery QQ Ice Cream, the Dacia Spring, the Changan Automobile Changan Lumin — show what else the money bought that year. Nearby in the JAC Group catalogue sit the Heyue A20 and the Heyue A30.
