The story
The AUDI E7X (Chinese: 奥迪E7X; pinyin: Àodí E7X) is a battery electric and range-extended full-size SUV produced by the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture and sold under the China-only AUDI marque that is owned by Audi. It is the second model to be co-developed by SAIC Motor and Audi.
What is underneath
402-671 hp is the published figure. It weighs 2457 -. Work it out per tonne and you get about 164 horsepower — quick by any era's standard, the kind of figure a hot hatch or a sports saloon posts. The wheelbase is 3060 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Its place in the line
Its family tree is legible: assembly was at Shanghai, China. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Alpine A390, the BYD Datang, the Jeep Recon — show what else the money bought that year. Nearby in the Audi catalogue sit the Audi 200 and the Audi 225.
