Editor's note

No Sonata Hybrid year is an AVOID: eleven of the thirteen scored years are BUY verdicts, the 2018 and 2019 cars score 94, and the 2012 and 2016 cars are CAUTION at 59 and 62. The whole record holds 741 complaints against 11,270 for the petrol Sonata, and the hybrid beats the petrol car's score in every shared year from 2011 to 2017. Read the full note on the model page. 2013 specifically: a year the record favours — 107 complaints, score 74/100. The caveats in the note apply to other years of this nameplate more than to this one.
