The brake booster has failed, a hissing noise is audible coming from the brake pedal when depressed. I have also noticed reducing stopping power in certain situations. It appears this issues is referenced by Chrysler in an extended warranty, covered under Mopar Warranty Bulletin D-22-15, however this car has now been in service for 6 years.
As I pulled up to stop, in electric mode, at a stop light, the display screen pulled up a message to pull over safely because the engine would stop soon, within about 10 seconds the screen showed the engine stopped.
