The background
The Volvo XC60 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured and marketed by Swedish automaker Volvo Cars since 2008. The XC60 is part of Volvo's 60 Series of automobiles, along with the S60 and V60. The first generation model introduced a new style for the 60 Series models. Along with the rest of the line-up, the first-generation XC60 was refreshed in 2013. Similarly, the second-generation model, released in 2017, is the first in the series. The car was named Car of the Year Japan for 2017–2018.

Where it sits
Its family tree is legible: assembly was at Volvo Cars gent. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Tesla Roadster, the Nissan 370Z, the Volkswagen Tiguan — show what else the money bought that year. Its Volvo stablemates include the Volvo 144 and the Volvo 264 TE.
What it costs now
The money question first: $10,000–$35,300 is the typical asking range today, and running it — fuel and maintenance at its age — costs about $3,885–$6,607 a year. Insurance sits around $1,300–$2,580 a year. The figures are class-level estimates from the federal record, with the formula on the methodology page; the model-year pages carry complaints, recalls and repair costs year by year.
