The Tata Hexa is a 5-door SUV from Tata Motors Ltd, built from 2016 to 2020, as electrification stopped being an experiment and the crossover took every market. Under the bonnet: 2.2&nbsp.

How it came about

The Tata Hexa is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured by Indian passenger and commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors between 2017 and 2020. A heavily reworked Tata Aria, the Hexa was originally unveiled at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show and was launched into the Indian market in January 2017.

The Hexa used Tata's Impact design language, also used in Tata Tiago, Tata Tigor, Tata Nexon and the Tata Harrier. The company used its three design studios in India, the UK, and Italy for designing cars in this design framework.

The hardware

Power comes from 2.2&nbsp. It shifts through a 5-speed Manual transmission / manual / 6-speed manual / 6-speed GM 6L transmission / GM 6L 50 MYB Automatic transmission / automatic. The wheelbase is 2850 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.

Family and rivals

Its family tree is legible: it took over from the Tata Aria; its successor was the Tata Safari (2021); assembly was at Pune, India. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Chevrolet Bolt, the Chevrolet Camaro, the Tesla Model 3 — show what else the money bought that year. Its Tata Motors Ltd stablemates include the TaMo Racemo and the Tata 407.
