Start with what the SEAT Exeo is: a 4-door saloon / 5-door estate with 1.6 , built from 2008 to 2014, in the decade of stability control, dual-clutch gearboxes and the first serious hybrids. What it meant takes a little longer.
The background
The SEAT Exeo (Spanish: [eɣˈseo]) is a large family car and flagship model, that was built by the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT, subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. The Exeo is an rebadged Audi A4 (B7) with a redesigned front and rear. Previously codenamed Bolero, (though not to be confused with SEAT's earlier concept car bearing the same name) and internally designated Typ 3R, the name Exeo derives from the Latin word exire, meaning "to go beyond", breaking SEAT's recent tradition to name its cars after Spanish cities.
This car was made available in four-door saloon or five-door estate styles only. Production of the Exeo ended in May 2014, with the final production number being 81,572. There was no direct replacement.
The engineering
The engine is 1.6 other versions carried different engines, listed in the specification table below. On the scales it comes to 1310 -. Drive goes through a 6-speed manual / 6/7-speed LuK multitronic CVT. The layout matters: the engine drives the front wheels, the packaging choice that gives a small car a big cabin. The wheelbase is 2642 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Where it sits
In the SEAT line-up the SEAT Exeo has a clear place: it replaced the SEAT 132 / SEAT Bolero (concept); the factory was Martorell, Catalonia, Spain. The cars a buyer would have weighed it against include the Tesla Roadster, the Nissan 370Z, the Volkswagen Tiguan. Its SEAT stablemates include the SEAT 124 and the SEAT 133.
