The Lola T210 is one of the Lola Cars entries the open record knows by name, and by little else. That is not nothing: a name in the catalogue is where a car's story starts to be recoverable. The shape is credited to Eric Broadley.
How it came about
The Lola T210, and its evolution, the Lola T212, are Group 6 sports prototype race cars, designed, developed and built by British manufacturer Lola, for the newly created European 2-Litre sports car racing championship, in 1970.
The hardware
the output is 245 hp @ 9000 rpm. On the scales it comes to 550 kg. That is roughly 445 horsepower per tonne: hypercar territory, where the limiting factor is the tyre, not the engine. The wheelbase is 2155 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Family and rivals
In the Lola Cars line-up the Lola T210 has a clear place: it replaced the Lola T120; it handed the line to the Lola T280. Its Lola Cars stablemates include the Hill GH1 and the Lola B02/50.
