Some cars leave a paper trail; the Ligier JS F3 left a name and a place in Ligier's list. What follows is what can be said with a source behind it. Its designer of record is Nicolas Clémençon.

The story

The Ligier JS F3 is an open-wheel formula race car. It was designed, developed and produced by the French manufacturer Ligier specifically built to FIA Formula 3 regulations, since 2018. It is used in the Formula Regional Americas Championship, and is powered by a 303 hp (226 kW) Honda K20C turbocharged four-cylinder. A modified version, known as the JS F3-S5000, is used in the Australian S5000 Championship, and is powered by a Ford Coyote naturally-aspirated V8 engine, producing 560 hp (420 kW).

What is underneath

it is rated at 303-560 hp. Kerb weight is 650 kg. Power-to-weight lands near 466 horsepower per tonne, which is hypercar territory, where the limiting factor is the tyre, not the engine. The wheelbase is 2920-3000 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.

Its place in the line

Nearby in the Ligier catalogue sit the Easymile EZ10 and the Ligier JS2.
