The Honda Freed is a 5-door minivan from Honda, built from 2008, in the decade of stability control, dual-clutch gearboxes and the first serious hybrids. Under the bonnet: 1.5 .
The background
The Honda Freed (Japanese: ホンダ・フリード, Hepburn: Honda Furīdo) is a mini MPV produced by the Japanese automaker Honda since 2008. The vehicle is designed mainly for the need of Japanese consumers.
It is based on the Fit/Jazz platform and acts as a replacement for the first generation Mobilio in Japan. Three different versions of the Freed are available: a six-seater version which features captain's seats in the second row, a seven-seater version and a five-seater version. Honda also stated that a wheelchair-accessible model is offered in addition to versions with a side lift-up seat and passenger lift-up seat.
The engineering
Power comes from 1.5 other versions carried different engines, listed in the specification table below. It weighs 1270-1420 kg. It shifts through a 5-speed automatic / CVT. The wheelbase is 2740 mm. These are manufacturer figures carried by Wikipedia and Wikidata, not road-test measurements.
Where it sits
Its family tree is legible: it took over from the Honda Mobilio (first generation); its successor was the Honda Mobilio/BR-V (Indonesia); assembly was at Sayama, Saitama. Its contemporaries in the catalogue — the Nissan 370Z, the Tesla Roadster, the Nissan GT-R — show what else the money bought that year. Its Honda stablemates include the Honda Envix and the Honda Crider.
